heating problem

i have a 2006 chevy impala LT 3.9L V6 with 37838miles and i was wondering what do i need to replace to get my cars heater to work properly...when im in drive and moving it works and when im stoped or parked it doesnt

disconnect a heater hose at the engine and refill the cooling system until fluid comes out the hose.reconnect the hose. top off coolant tank.
