My project right now is to take a 327 out of my 1966 Impala and install it, (after rebuild), into a 1984 Monte Carlo SS. The casting number on this engine is 3858180. Now i've done as much research as I pssibly can on the suffix codes and the only thing I can't figure out is the suffix code HC at the end. The full code is TO114HCH. I know this will help me figure out what this engine can make for HP/TQ. I would like to start out with a refrence of where i'm starting out with before the build. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

My motor manual (1971) shows 327 w/ pg for a full-size chevy. 3 hp/tq ratings350hp/360tq, 300/ 360 & 275/355--all 4 bbl. Mortec. Com shows the casting # to be a 2 bolt main. On their site are head numbers as well. 2 engines are 10.5/1 and the other is 11/1 comp ratio- you may want to lower that for the street ( depending on how much you are going to drive it) today's cam & head tech are worth considering over a simple overhaul.
