2003 Chevy Impala Service Engine Soon light

2003 Chevy Impala V6 18000 miles

After replacing the BCM, the Service Engine Soon light remains on. This light was not on before the BCM was replaced. When the trunk is unlatched and the lid bounces gently, the light goes on and off. We tried changing the trunk switch with no effect. The Service Engine Soon light remains on.

Also, after the BCM replacement, when the headlights come on, the clock radio display disappears. When the headlights are off, the display appears again. This was also not present before the BCM was replaced.

Any help would be appreciated!

Did you have the bcm programmed after you installed it? Is it a new or used part?

Yes the BCM was programmed after it was put in. The BCM was a new part from the dealership.
