2003 Chevy Impala problem with heads

2003 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I took my Intake manifold off and I have water sitting on top of the valve stem instead of gas ( on 2 ports one on each side). I just got heads resurfaced and tested. It is also whistling ( sounds like it is sucking air from somewhere).
Where can the water be coming from? What can I do to find out what is causing it?

Perform a compression test to rule out/in head gaskets.

If head gaskets are OK, then coolant is coming from intake manifold.

If they took too much material off head, then coolant passages to head would not line up.
