The car does not go over 40 mph, and makes noise in the engine if you rev the engine in park over 3000 rpm. The engine does not miss at all and does not have a engine light on. Seems to have some type of back pressure, do the convertors go bad often on these cars? And what other ideas would you have. Thanks

Yes they do go bad often. Take it to your local muffler shop and they can help you. Other wise disconnect the exhaust from the engine and test dirve it. See if you have plenty of power then
