Problem began when I was going at a consistent speed on interstate around 75 mph. All the sudden, car just jerked and shook violently and check engine light came on. I let of the gas and shaking stopped. Of course check eng light remained on and still is. Now, when accelerating, when you get to about 40-45 mph, the shaking/shimmying starts and gets so bad the dash actually shakes! It does that until you get to about 70mph. Could this be a transmission problem or solenoid? Any other suggestions?

Hello,

Have you got the vehicle scanned for the trouble codes?
Since your engine light is on, that should be done first. This can narrow down the possible cause.

Here is how to retrieve the codes:

The issue you are having can happen for several different reasons. Without knowing the trouble codes it will be too difficult to figure out what might have gone wrong.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
