My remote keyless entry transmitter has been reprogramed twice in the last week. The first time. It worked only once before it quit working. I had it reprogrammed again. It worked about 6 times before it failed again. The fuse has not been the problem. They tell me the only other thing they can do is replace the control in the dash for 400.00. How do I know that this is the correct avenue? Can the electronic testor tell me if it is just a loose wire someplace?

The only way of telling is to have a tech 2 installed and read data form the transmitter while pushing your key fob. Are they talking about the body control module that they wanna replace? These do fail often. I have replaced the BCM for this problem.

I have seen the key fobs break the solder joints for the battery holder. When this happens, they work intermittently.
