Engine Cooling problem
2001 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i put a new 195 thermostat and coolant temperature sensor. The temperature gauge's needle sits little lower than halfway mark and sits at little over halfway mark when I drive for a while and stop at a light. Is this normal? The needle used to sit at little over quarter on old thermostat. Where does the needle say in 2001 impala and if I have any problems what can it be?

i put in new head gaskets, cooling fans, waterpump, temperature sensor, and thermostat

Right around the center of the gauge is normal. Your old t-stat may have been stuck open causing it to run cooler around town. As long as the fan cycles when its idling and the temp comes down a little when the fan cycels it sounds like it is ok
