I have a 2001 Chevy impala and my car seems to be getting poor gas mileage and the gas gauge never gives an accurate reading. when my car is started and in park it makes a weird noise and the gas gauge moves back and forth rapidly and when i shift into to drive the noise subsides. while driving the gas moves back and forth and the engine seems to have a hard time maintaining speed when driving on the highway. in addition to this i sometimes smell an odor of gasoline.
