2000 Chevy Impala struts

How do I know when I need to replace my shocks or struts.
I am a woman & need advice.

This is an easy one. Bounce the front of the car. IF it continues bouncing more than 3 times, they are weak and are due to be replaced. Do the same on the rear of the car to check rear shocks.
