I recently ran my car hot so I had to repair the heads, head gaskets, values, ect. Lots of work done to it. After the repairs my car is putting ( or kind of like a putt ) and runs rough while idoling or almost stopped. Its not knocking but kind of like a roaring putting sound. My car did not do this before. My mechanic can not figure out why.

Thanks for the quick reply, Docfixit Your reply was the CAT may be damaged from coolent check the back exhaust. What does CAT mean? And I stuck my hand by the back muffler to feel exhaust and you can feel it putting out. Its not blowing out a solid stream of exhaust. The exhust is putting out in sync with the putting sound my car is making. Does this sound like the problem you spoke of?

CAT is catalytic converter pressure gague can be placed into O2 sensor port. Or put a vacuum gague on intake port should be 17-29Hg. In. At idle raise RPM to 2000 if CAT clogged gague will drop towards 0
