1970 Chevy Impala V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

What on the transmission side of the Speedometer could be damaged, that won't allow the cable to turn? I have already replaced the cable and driven gear. I will take off the tail of the tranny and inspect the drive gear.

Could you reword your question about turning the cable?
If you have the cable unscrewed from the transmission, you should be able to turn the inner cable with your fingers.
If you can't then the cable needs to be replaced. And that's pretty easy.

Also, I need to know if you have cruise control
