1972 Chevy El Camino determinig final gear ratio
Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1972 Chevy El Camino V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual 90k miles
Isn't there a quick way of determining gear ratio? I sort of remember having to rotate the drive wheel and at the same time count the rotation on the drive shaft? It's been awhile since my high school days. I think the el camino came with 3:73, but I want to reduce inorder to lower my rpms @ highway speed and still keep my Richmond T-10 4spd.
Thanks!

That's right rotate tire once count turns of shaft.
What RPMS does it turn at 60mph?
