Engine Cooling problem
1979 Chevy Corvette V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 120K miles

I have a 79 corvette. This winter I put in a 355 crate motor, a 4-core radiator, a 13-inch Hayden electric fan, brand new water pump, new radiator air dam foam strips, and all new hoses. No matter how I drive, or for how long, it always heats up to 250-260. It heats up really bad when I am stuck at a stoplight. But it doesn't even cool down when I get on the highway. The only thing I could think of is that I took out the flex fan that was on it and I also took off the fan shroud. What can/should I do to cool this car down?

Put the fan shroud and mechanical fan back in it.The shroud is designed to allow the fan to pull air through the entire radiator. With your electric all you are pulling through it the surface of the fan.I would use the factory fan/clutch assembly
