my chevy 327 in my boat has suddenly stopped idling well. It won't run at less than 2000 rpm. This just happened. It was running fine and suddenly started this on my last outing. It runs fine at 3000 rpm. It seems to have no power at 2000 or less rpm as well. It has a pertronix ignition and edelbrock 750 cfm carb.

Check to see if carb is bleeding into venturis at idle if yes then float and seat not shuting off gas ie. Flooding

I did take the flame arrestor off while running and noticed alot of gas running through the carb at idle. Bet that's it. Guess it could be a stuck float? Any chance i'll need a new shut off valve?

Edelbrock carb easy rebuild get number and get a kit. Don't want potential fire on a boat
