Chevrolet Corsica Repair Question

Not starting
I have a 1996 Corsica, 2.2 4 cylinder with 156,000 miles on it. It has always been taken good care of and has run like new. Two days ago as I was driving, it shut off and will not start. It has gas, it is getting spark. The fuel pump is good. I tried starting it with starter fluid and it just cranks normally and doesn't try to start. I was wondering if it's a sensor or something. This car is my job. I drive all day and had to rent a car. But I can't afford that for long. Can someone help me? Thanks,
Laryl
