1994 Chevy Corsica rack and pinion or power steering proble
Steering problem
1994 Chevy Corsica 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 233000 miles
I notice when making a lane change that the steering is a little hard to turn. It also makes a noise when turning the steering wheel in either direction. But it turns very easily when doing this. Are these symptoms of a power steering pump going bad or possibly a worn out rack and pinion?

Mike

Sounds like pump what happens when parked and turn? is fluid full? They make an additive that may do some good.

I have tried the additive, didn't help. Fluid is full. When parked, it turns easily without any additional effort, however it does make a noise no matter which direction I turn.

Then it's a pump growl but if it turns good and you can still hear the radio I'd run with it. Save your pennies for pump replacement in future. I drove a Ford F150 90k with a growler before it died.
