1990 Chevy Corsica Brake Lights

1990 Chevy Corsica Automatic

My son recently acquired a 1990 Corsica. Within a week, the left brake light quit working. He changed the bulbs and the brake switch. The bulbs are the dual filament type, and the tail lights and blinker works, but not the brake light. What could the problem be?

Is the right side light working? Check wiring on left tail light assembly to ensure plug is secure.

Yes, the right side is working fine. And since the tail lights and blinkers work, I'm assuming that the wiring and assembly is okay. If the bulbs are installed backwards, would the tail lights/blinkers still work?

If the bulb fits firmly in the socket then it will work fine. The bulb housing (piece that bulb inserts in) could be faulty. Double check that the bulb is in good and that the new bulb is not blown (this happens sometimes). If all wires are good then next thing would be to test to make sure there is power going to the housing.
