When I put my key into my chevy corsica and turn it, nothing catches and it's just turns back and forth and the engine doesn't start. The lights still turn on when I turn the key. It feels like the part that is supposed to catch is slightly pushed back into the steering column. Could a part of the ignition switch become unscrewed at the front?

Check for a burnt fusible link at the starter. Usually that is what the problem is. But it could be other things as well. The fusible link is a small wire connected to a larger wire. There are a couple of them.
