2004 Chevy Colorado Security Passlock Problem

2004 Chevy Colorado 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
One out of every 15 starts, turn the key and nothing happens. After several minutes the vehicle will start. Security lock light on dash board blinks and sometimes stays on when driving the vehicle.

had the same problem with my 06, its something in the switch on the column. its some kind of interface with the security system ans switch. if i remember correctly the part was about $70 and my mechanic charged 1 and 1/2 hrs labor.
