2007 Chevy Cobalt windshield wipers

Today I was driving and the windshield wipers just decided to stop working. I had to be towed because I was on the highway and it was snowing. The technician said that it was the relay? What does that mean and how much am I looking at to fix it?

A relay is a type of electrical switch and is replaced very similar to a fuse. Pull out and replace with new..Your vehicle has two wiper relays. Both are located in the underhood fuse block (in engine compartment, next to left strut tower). Most relays run around $10 - $20 and will look similar to picture below...
