2006 Chevy Cobalt My MPH needle jumps when car is stopped

2006 Chevy Cobalt 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 125000 miles
My Mph needle jumps when car is sitting still. If the car is in park and I rock back and forth inside the car the needle will begin to jump. Whenever I accelerate from a stopped position and the needle is jumping the car jerks and the steering wheel is hard to turn. HELP
