my truck starts and shut down and wont the engine wont run

You have to check to see if you are getting spark and fuel. You'll need to see I yfou are getting fuel pressure. You may not be. Also your truck may have the bad wiring harness so if your pump is bad make sure to get teh pump with the new harness that will have to be installed. It's about a foot long.
