sometimes when i'm driving my car and sometimes on start up I hear this loud rattling noise which sounds to me like the heat plate? Is there one and if so where is it and how would I go about tightening it

thanks for your time

You might want to check the exaust manifold.

With the engine cold tap the heat shields with your fist to srr if there is any vibration or rattle. The heat shields do make a racket when loose. Using a pair of pliers squeeze the end of the shield together making it tighter on the exaust. Just make it tight enough to stop the rattling.
