overheating

my 1998 chevy cavilar was overheating and the fan was not working,check engine light on says oxygen sensor,so replaced oxygen sensor and cooling fan fuse.fan started working and did'nt overheat,fan not working again,but will start to run if i wiggle wire attched to fan motor,but then will quit again.dont know what else to check.and overheating again.
