I was told my right cv boot was ripped. I am not a mechanic, and don't have alot of money. How much labor is involved in repairing it? And about how much?

Hello,

To be honest it would cost less to replace the CV Axle instead of having the boot replaced. The reason is that with the boot being ripped road debri has gotten into the cv joint and depending on how long it has been that way, has started to wear the joint itself and if you just get the boot replaced you might get 2 - 6 months before needing to replace the axle anyway. So, you would be double paying for the same job by doing it that way.

The cost could be $200 - $400.
