CHEVY TEMPERATURE GAUGE....A LITTLE HIGH?

2002 Chevrolet Cavalier

Engine Cooling problem
2002 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 45000 miles

Hi!
I noticed, for the first time, the temp. Gauge rising a little above " normal" (195 - which I've noticed it tends to stay at most of the time) yesterday after driving around town. At one point I became worried so I turned off the AC (which I had cranking.) And got to my destination without it getting above the second 'notch' in between 195 and whatever temp is 4 notches above that. I hope this makes sense!

Anyhow, I've never noticed this before so I'm not sure if its something to worry about and have it checked out or if this may be normal. I did notice that at one point after parking and turning the car off, I could hear the fan still on.I don't think I'd ever noticed that, either.

Thanks for any advice or information that you can provide.

Sincerely,
Mary
