Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Chevy Cavalier Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 80000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My engine ran hot because I didn't know that the light that came on meant I needed coolant. It made a clunky sound and then stalled and it won't start at all now. My dad thinks that the heads are gone.

If I have these replaced will my engine work or will I just be paying someone to do a job that will lead into more work?

I'm not a car person (obviously) but I don't deserve to get ripped off by shady mechanics. Any advice?

Thanks
