Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My ETS light and Service Engine Soon light came on. Shortly after I had parked my car, now it won't start. Actually, if I hold the gas pedal in it will start, but as soon as I release the gas pedal it dies. I'm going to get some injector cleaner and try that. I was wondering if you have experienced this problem before.

Having the PCM scanned will most likely lead to the source of the lights and the reason it wont idle. It could be any number of sensors, but if the light is on, the PCM should have stored a code that will lead us in the right direction for a fix. Have it scanned and get back to me with the code/codes

I bought a OBD II pocket scan and received two codes.
THe first code is P0507 and the second is the same code just with a double P meaning it is a pending problem.

That code is for the IAC (Idle Air Control) motor circuit. First check to be sure there are no vacuum leaks. If none, then the IAC motor will most likely need to be replaced
