1999 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 Automatic

OK,
It has 43,088
Ive had it about 2 weeks
And all of the sudden when I try and crank it, it acts like it wants to crank, but it takes me about 2 or 3 times to crank it and other times it cranks up fine on the first try.
I was wondering if you could tell me a couple of things it could be?

Also sometimes I hear this light scraping noise under my car, but ive checked under there. Any ideas?
