Brakes problem
1998 Chevy Cavalier Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 65000 miles

Today while driving I noticed my ABS light come on and stay on. My brakes were working fine. Any help into this situation would be great. What caused it? How does it get fixed.

Check brake fluid if low you may need brake job
check if you have brake light when step on paddle
other then that you need a scanner to check for code s
to let you know trouble area
also you can check the wiring harness around the tires sensors

How do I check that stuff myself?? I had new brakes put in 2 1/2 years ago.

OK !
step on brake paddle and check if the brake lights come on at the back of the car.
open hood check if brake fluid low add
2 1/2 years you should have brakes checked
also in your case I think it will be best if you have it checked by a local shop

I will do that. What happens if the lights on the back of the car do not go on? I can fill the brake fluid myself? Thanks again

if no brake lights on the rear you may need a switch
in your case i think you should have your brakes check too almost three years on a brake job
u should have them looked at
