I have a 1989 Cavalier, 2 L, auto, 175000 km. Recently did the head gasket and it runs well now. Had to disconnect throtle valve cable & reconnect when doing the head. What is the reset procedure for this cable on the car so the tranny shifts at proper speeds?

Best of my knowledge is youre cavalier doesnt need to have anything reset, Just hook youre battery set up, Youre set.

The repair manual and local tranny shop have the adjustment to be done when ever the cable is disconnected. The procedure in the Chilton repair manual does not make sense, can read it about 3 ways, none work.

That Chilton repair manual isnt a very good ref book to go by, I would recommend getting haynes manual, That book is way better to understand.
