1972 Chevy Caprice stumbles on acceleration

Engine idles fine but when put in gear runs rough. Replaced spark plugs, wires, and air filter

Check your points and timing. Then it may be a carb overhaul if those are right. Put vacuum guage on it and see if you have good vacuum-20" at idle is good, 15" would indicate valve or blocked exaust problem. Or a vacuum leak.
