I Have a 95' Chevy Blazer 4.3L 4X4 4Dr and a little over a moth ago driving on the freeway, shifting into overdrive the truck stoped and stalled out! Was able to coast to side of road & wouldn't start so I Towed it back home. I've Got Pressure to the Fuel rail, Got Spark with 12 volts off battery. Pulled the starter & kicks just fine. The Check Engine light had came on when it happend. My Truck is a OBD1 compliant with a OBD2 16 pin connecter and I'v used a OBD 1 & 2 type scan tool & it was unable 2 pull anything up! I Have used a jumper wire & pulled a 12. The battery had died from trying 2 turn it over several times so I jumped charged my battery and from that, with no key in the ignition & everything off, the starter started kicking with the engine cranking over! Weird! I've put the key back into the ignition & jiggled the handle, From this point on I have checked everything that I can think of & to this day if I put the negitive lead back on the battery the starter keeps on kickin! I don't know what eles do I have an Electronic Transmission I'v checked the Neutral Safety switch with 12 volts and now I have my steering colum pulled apart to check the ignition but @ this point Im fresh out of Idea's! ? :(

Try replacing the ignition switch.(Not to be confused with the ignition lock cylinder)

Ok but what do you think would cause my truck to stall out and shut off steming from me switching from DRIVE into OVERDRIVE? I just dont understand because I used overdrive that afternoon! What would potentionally cause this to happen? I have the Ignition Switch in hand, $ 170 later & now im torn between the switch and the Neutral Safety Switch! Allthough im not able to start in anyother postion other than Park or Neutral which would be correct if the switch were working & as far as I know it still is! But im wondering if im missing something, If there is any Information about what else I could check out would be very helpful & appreciated. Thanx Nick
