Going down road coming up to speed after stop sign engine stalled. Was driving normal not flooring gas pedal and just stalled. Tried to restart...nothing. While turning over it was like a backfire or pop sound coming from intake. Towed car home and next morning started to work. Engine would not turn over. Charged all day and tried to start. Battery dead and replaced with new. Engine turns over..still no start. Checked all fuses..good. Checked fuel pressure..60 psi and holds. Pulled plug wire, put new plug in wire, grounded plug and no spark. Replace ignition coil but still no spark and still has pop sound every once in a while, from intake, while cranking. The rotor, cap, wires and plugs were replaced 6 months ago. I pulled cap and rotor to check...looked OK but had put rotor inside cap along with screws while I ate lunch to keep from losing. Funny that rotor fit inside cap between the pins. Sure looks like a huge gap between the pins of cap and the tip of rotor but had been running fine until now. I'm stumped...Any ideas?
