2001 Chevy Blazer Engine Stalling

I have a 01 Chevy Blazer that will crank and run at idle speed, but once the engine warms up or if you press the gas the engine stalls. My mechanic says he thinks it is in the computer. He has narrowed it down to that, but he is 90 percent sure that the computer is failing. He told me to take it to the dealership and have them Flash the computer to see it that resolves the issue. I want to get your opinion or expert advice on this subject. Thanks Paul
