I just put in a new multifunction switch and now the air bag light in the dash stays on but it will flash 7 time when you first start the s10 blazer and stays on after that. I have taken the fuse out for the air bag and it still stays on with or without the fuse in the fuse block. I did everything the Haynes manual said to do before you changed the switch. Or is this something that has to be reset by the dealer.

Hello,

It sounds like the clock spring might not be getting proper connection. It is likely got loose/disconnected during the install. The clock spring assures continuous power to the air bag as the steering wheel turns. When that circuit is not complete it will trigger the air bag light.

Best option would be to remove the steering wheel and verify the install.

Here is a helpful video:

You can also scan and retrieve the airbag code(s), which can help point to the issue.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
