Chevy my truck wont start
Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 274000 miles
I have a truck that I put a new battery in and spent alot on it for high aperage. I can kill this battery in just 5 tries at starting the engine.
Half the time the truck will eventually start. It cranks and turns over but most of the time it takes forever to actually sputter and sound like its firing or getting fuel?
The truck has less power when I get on it than before and I changed one of the filters located under the driver door already. Once started whethor by jumping the car after multiple tries and killing the battery, or by luck I can leave it for upto 2 hours and it will crank like a normal used 96 blazer. After that it all starts over again, but usually not as bad.
One other thinbg that makes me think its fuel related might be the fact that on less than a quarter tank its awefully hard to start without draining the battery. I also notice the sound when I turn the ignition switch like from the fuel tank area. Mayube the punp so it seems as though its functioning.

You need to actually check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge to rule out the fuel pump. Do this and get back with me with the readings.

I have been told to rule out the fuel pump.
