My tranny was shifting from first to second fine then would slip and not go into third. It would just rev up, So i then went and bought a tranny with 90,000 miles on it and had it put in. When i left the auto garage i noticed the same exact thing was happening. Completely different tranny and same thing. What could this be? It is a 95 chevy s10 blazer 4x4. could it be something elecrical or a solenoid? Please help!!!

a 95 should be an L60E, so it is computer controlled on the shifts. There is a good chance that it is comp related if two trannies do the exact same thing

All of the solenoids are inside the trans, so the chances of it being that in both are pretty slim. You may need to have a trans shop look at it, or another shop with the proper equiupment to control shifting via a scan tool . They will need to see if the computer is commanding a 3rd gear shift and if not they can do it manually to see if it works

OK. I did notice that when i bought the new trans it had a few wires coming out of it that were snipped, so they had to have use the old wires, that went to somewhere electrical out of the old trans. Could that be it?

Salvage yards tend to just cut the wiring harness instead of unplugging them.I doubt that is the problem, remember this is the same issue with 2 trannies, the truck is the common denominator
