my 1992 s10 blazer 4x4 is accelerating very poorly... i tried going up a small hill the other day and no matter how far i pressed on the gas pedal it souldnt go over 20 mph... its very sluggish even when not going up hills.. takes a good while to get it up to 40 mph. ive replaced the distributor and still no go. But i have noticed a considerable amount of play in the throttle cable prob an inch to an inch and a half!!! could this be a problem???

yes it could be the problem, I would also do wires and plugs, change air filter and fuel filter, then clean the throttle body

those are all new also maybe like a couple of months or so... i did do a paper clip test and the only problem it gave me was a O2 sensor it said... but i didnt think that could be the problem.... the throttle body looked clean as well no build up or nothing

well the engine may not be going into closed loop, if the oxygen sensor is faulty. without that, It will only run on a base set of parameters, you will not get anykind of performance out of it, so the oxygen sensor is a good start, I would address the mapp sensor too
