Help cant start my Beretta

I have 1996 chevrolet beretta 3.1 (3100) with 144050 miles. It has been sitting for a while like 8 mo. The battery was dead so I bought a new one then change all the filters(fuel, air. Ect) I also checked the plugs and wires all good I get spark, I get fuel, I get compression, but the engine will start and run for 20-30 seconds and then die, I tried fuel additives to clean the 10 gallons of fuel that sat for all this time. But still the same result, also when it starts if you give it gas from the pedal it dies emediatly, help this car is in showroom condition and I would love to finally get it on the road. : : : :Shock: :
