I have read on your site about other owners (such as me), who have suffered major engine damage on the Aveo model due to the timing belt breaking. I have just had this happen on a 2004 vehicle, that has yet to even reach the 60,000 mile recommended replacement cycle.
Is this a big-enough (known) problem that Chevrolet can be pressed into covering it on such an old (4-years) vehicle?
Assuming that I'm stuck with it (my pessimistic side rearing its ugly head), I have found a very low mileage 1.6L engine from a 2007 model. Did the engine remain the same from 2004 to current so that as long as I use all of my own accessories...I could use the 2007 engine?
Thanks,
Phil
