2002 chevy avalanche 2wd 5.3 liter
My starterwill not disengage and i have to disconnect the battery cable to stop it from running i have already checked out the starter and it is fine

check the relay it may be sticking , it should be in the underhood relay center and the top of the box should tell you which one , look for another relay with the same number and place that one where the starter relay goes , if it works you will need a relay , you can pull them apart with tiny flathead to see if its stuck or burned , lemme know
