1996 Chevy Astro Gas smell

1996 Chevy Astro Automatic 135,55 miles

I just purchased a chevy astro van and it has a very bad gas smell in it. I tried to contact the seller (private) and he will not return my calls.

I have to drive with the windows open because the smell makes me cough.

Do you have ant suggestions?

Running too rich could be caused by the following a bad O2 sensor, excessive fuel pressure (bad fuel pressure regulator or plugged return line), leaky fuel injectors, dirty air filter or restricted air inlet, or a defective coolant sensor that prevents the engine management system from going into closed loop mode.
