1986 Chevy Astro engine stall

My van will run for periods of time with no problem. It will suddenly quit ( sometimes while moving, and sometimes while at an idle.) Sometimes I can re-start it immediatly and sometimes I have to let it sit over night and then start it. Once it starts it will run for a period of time before it quits again. Noone can seem to pin point 1 particular problem... Please HELP

Hi:
Two things need checked when it won't start. Is the engine getting fuel and spark. One will be missing. To me it sounds like a fuel pump problem. Has anyone checked the fuel pump pressure?
