I drove it home and it ran fine, next morning won't start. I thought maybe the gas was froze so i put it in a heated garage, that wasn't it. I checked the timing, changed the fuel filter and fuel pump, still nothing. i have spark though the wires and fuel pressure. It cranks and pops a little but won't take off. Please help.

when you say fuel pressure, how much? the cpi 4.3 vortec system needs 58-62 psi to start, anything less than 58 and it will not start, period.

Hi LIM, You're right on the money on the fuel pressure-Gas fumes problem: can be underneath the IMTV-Spyder unit.

By any chance do you know where the CTS on this model.

TIA

i replaced the spider unit last august. since the last time i posted ive ran it on the obd computer. it came up code 43 which is electronic spark conterol failure. i've replaced the spark control moduel and the knock sensor. still getting nothing. it smells like gas if i've been trying to start it for a while, but not any other time. ive found the spot where you check the fuel pressure and just used a screw driver to push the little thing in and fuel shoots up, i can also hear the brand new pump coming on. i'm running completely out of ideas.

You need to stick a fuel pressure gauge on it-the pressure is very critical here. Get that taken care of ,then we'll go somewhere else
