I hope someone can help with this. I have a 2004 SRX V8 AWD and after it sits for while the interior lights don't come on when the door is opened or unlocked (via keyless) for about 25 seconds and the perimeter lighting (after dark) doesn't illuminate using the the remote, unless the car has been recently driven and parked. Any ideas? Thanks!

Is it possible that different keys/remotes are being used, for example driver 1 versus driver 2. The reason that could come into play is personalization variations between the two drivers.

The only items that differ in the memory settings are the seat and mirror positions. Everything else is set the same via the NAV system screen. It seems to happen only after the vehicle has been sitting for a period of time. It works almost immediately after the car has been driven.

I didn't really find any info matching your concern. It could be a programming issue, but am not sure. Did not find any bulletins, or repair info matching your symptoms.

Thanks. My dealer informed that they discovered some "chewed" or worn wires under the engine manifold cover, while they were replacing the catalytic converter. I'll let you know what they tell me when they're done, just in case it ever comes again with someone else.

I couldn't see wires under the engine cover affecting lighting, but who knows anymore. If they still have the vehicle, you might quiz them and see if there are any software calibration upgrades that may apply.
