1997 Cadillac SLS Rear Shocks on Caddy
Suspension problem
1997 Cadillac SLS V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 84,000 miles
When replacing the rear shocks should the bushings be replaced? I had the shocks replaced and have an extreme rattling noise. The bushings were not replaced. The noise can be duplicated when the car is on a hoist and you jiggle either tire or shock. I'm now being told that the bushings need to be replaced & the cost will be about $700 because the shocks have to be removed and replaced. The charge for replacing the rear shocks was $1,550.

Seems to me that should have been found during the initial inspection, before it was dismantled the first time.
