How do you disconnect the emergency brake cable at the caliper so that the top caliper bolt can be removed

Are you referring to the caliper bracket bolt to facilitate rotor removal? If you remove the bolt that holds the cable 'L' bracket to the caliper, and remove the lower caliper to bracket bolt, the caliper can be pivoted upward, and you can access the bracket bolts.
