STOP ENGINE! LOW OIL PRESSURE
I have a '97 Cadillac Seville STS w/ 107K and many repairs. It looks and drives great. I have a midplate seal oil leak (Northstar design flaw) and have been told to have it repaired for $2500 or just drive it with the leak. I do not plan to invest any large amounts of money into it. I first saw this message about 4 months ago and until yesterday, only had this happen about 4 times. I would stop the engine check the oil level, add oil if needed, and go. I tried to have it repaired today, all day. Finding nothing after hooking to the computer, they (Cadillac dealership service) told me that it was a " one shot deal to replace the oil pressure switch or replace the motor.&Quot; I replaced the switch, then learned that parts and service were confused about it being a switch or a sensor. Same message happened 1 block from the dealership - wasted day and money! Do you have any suggestions!
